About Us

Another Day in Paradox began in the mid-1990s when a friend and I had a graphic design business in Soquel, Calif. One day, out of frustration—in a  business where deadlines are frequently theoretical—I exclaimed, “Well, life is just a bowl of theories!” My friend laughed and wrote it on a dry erase board we had on the wall. As time went on, encouraged by the amusement of my associate, the list grew. Clients would check the board when they came into the office. Some would even write something of their own on it.

One day, my friend wrote “su-osophies” (Susan’s philosophies) on the board. We looked at it for a few days and I countered it with “pseudosophies” (pseudo philosophies). To cover our bases with sayings that didn’t really sound like pseudosophies, we came up with “mythellany.” Another Day in Paradox came about just as inadvertently; another exasperated exclamation! “Well, it’s just another day in paradox.”

I left California in the late ’90s; spent a few years in Washington and a few more in Florida before landing in Montana. My intention was to visit my daughter and move on to a warmer climate. That was 2005 and I’m still here!

I hope you enjoy these!

I would like to thank my brother John for photos and support and enduring endless iterations of everything from my logo to my blog; and Phyllis, for thinking I’m funny. I would like to especially thank my son Jon for his help, without which this project may not have ever gotten off the ground.
